THE AIR EFFICIENCY AWARD

Obverse: An Uncrowned Effigy of the Sovereign.

Reverse: Plain, with the legend “AIR EFFICIENCY AWARD”.

Size: 32mm wide, 37mm top to bottom.

Ribbon: 38mm wide, the ribbon is green with two central 4mm pale blue stripes.

Suspension: By an ornate non-swiveling bar in the shape of an eagle with wings outstretched.

This silver medal of oval shape was instituted on 17th August, 1942, and is awarded to officers and other ranks of the Royal New Zealand Air Force Volunteer Reserve for ten years’ efficient service. Bars may be awarded upon completion of a further ten years’ service. The bar is in silver, bearing on the obverse an Eagle with outstretched wings surmounted by a Crown.
