Geoff and his team are now into their 8th year and continue to offer great value meals. Remember also the function room is available at no cost to members to hire for that special occasion, and Geoff will be pleased to cater for you.
Remember Wednesday and Thursday nights you can still enjoy a two-course meal for just $11.50 if dining before 6.30pm.
Fridays of course you can still enjoy the great value Carvery, again from just $11.50. Not forgetting the popular Sunday night buffet.
We have some fine entertainment at the club every Friday and Saturday with some new acts booked for the coming months, also the Sunday Club continues to be well supported each month, the next few dates are Jan 22, Feb 26, March 25 and April 24. They are usually on the last Sunday of the month from 2pm.
Wednesdays continue to be popular with the Community Dance Day from 1.30 thru to 4pm.
Another lucky member recently won $2000 on the last Friday before Christmas. What a great Christmas present that was. Remember be here Friday nights around 6.30 for your chance to win.
Also the Christmas Draw was again a resounding success and our thanks to all those who supported this event.
Don't forget the ever-popular Meat Raffles every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday starting around 4.30pm
Monday 6 February (Waitangi Day) the Birkenhead RSA are proud to Sponsor a charity bowls day at Birkenhead Bowling Club in conjunction with the Bowling Club and also Birkenhead Rotary. This year the charity is the local Plunket. Non-bowlers are welcome to take part in this fun day of bowls, raffles and auctions.
The annual picnic this year will be held on Sunday 12 February as usual at Little Shoal Bay from 10.30am - 4pm. See the Posters in the clubrooms for more details.
Remember we have sections for Darts, Pool, Indoor Bowls, Outdoor Bowls, Golf, plus also the busy Travel Section, and if you fancy having a go at any of these sports, then new members are always welcome.
Darts nights are usually Wednesday and Thursday.
Pool is on Tuesdays.
Indoor Bowls is held Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, and Thursday nights, as well as Tuesday nights once a month.
Golf sections play on Wednesdays and Sundays. Ask at the office or bar and we will put you in the right direction for a contact for each section.
Remember also the club has top quality Snooker tables for your enjoyment.
In March we have six triples teams travelling to Matamata for the NZRSA Outdoor Bowls Nationals, and also at Easter five of our darts players travel to Australia for the annual Inter Dominion Darts tournament. We wish them all a successful tournament.
Congratulations to Bob Farquhar who was voted Sports Person for 2011. Bob has been involved with Indoor Bowls for many years, and in 2011 after winning our own in house Singles title he then won the North Harbour Champ of Champ singles title. Well-done Bob.
